Her Seat At The Table: Women In Negotiation And Self-Advocacy

In this interactive workshop, we will explore societal barriers that currently constrain women in negotiations, and provide concrete skills and effective negotiation strategies for women in the legal profession. We will focus on developing skills such as claiming credit and expertise, as well as amplification strategies that people of all genders can use to help ensure that women have equity at the table. We will also introduce tactics such as "mirror" and "window" questions in order to better position women to negotiate with clarity and confidence — whether for themselves or their clients. During the workshop, participants will be given opportunities to practice skills through case discussions and introspective exercises.
