Not Every Career Path is Straight

Many of us decide what they "want to be when they grew up" sometime in HS or college and then headed down that path, becoming the expert in a certain subject matter or skill set . The path may have curved a bit here and there but there weren't any or many sharp turns. Then there are others who started down the path, took a soft right and a hard left or two before finding their way- and some may see or anticipate further turns ahead along the path. That person's expertise is the ability to pivot and adapt. Our panelists will describe their paths, the expected and unexpected twists and turns, and pros and cons of a nonlinear career path, especially in a very linear profession.
