Women in Law Section’s Virtual Book Club Meeting: Ice Queen
Please join NYSBA’s Women in Law Section for a virtual book club meeting featuring Felicia Farber and her novel, ICE QUEEN. This young adult romantic suspense novel shines a spotlight on the social and legal dangers teenagers face every time they use their cell phones and electronic devices. In today’s society, where many of our laws trail in the dust of technological advancements, teens and tweens are typically unaware that some of their most common digital activities could be criminalized. ICE QUEEN is a cautionary tale about dating in the digital age, weaving the risky behaviors of teen sexting and cyberbullying into the true-to-life story of a high school outcast who dares to challenge the class mean girl and ends up in a cyberwar that puts her entire future on the line.
Felicia Farber is an award-winning author and attorney in North Jersey and New York who regularly speaks and writes on the legal dangers of mixing the common teen/tween behaviors of sexting and cyberbullying with social media. Her debut young adult novel ICE QUEEN has won 11 awards, including First Place for Young Adult fiction. Felicia has been featured on numerous blogs and podcasts and regularly shares her expertise on the all-too-real consequences of electronic bullying and harassment, presenting to schools and the legal and medical communities.
