Eight New York State Bar Association section chairs assumed office during the Association’s Annual Meeting Jan. 25–30. They are:

Lisl Dunlop, Antitrust Law SectionLisl Dunlop of New York City is a partner in the New York office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, where she advises U.S. and multi-national companies in the media, technology and health care sectors on a range of antitrust counseling, antitrust litigation and transactional matters.

She has degrees from Cornell University Law School and the University of Sydney, and is admitted to practice in New York, District of Columbia, England and Wales and Australia.

Jeffrey P. Laner, Corporate Counsel Section

Jeffrey P. Laner of New York City (Law Firm of Jeffrey P. Laner) focuses his practice on business, contracts and regulatory matters for corporations, nonprofits, small businesses and start-ups. He was the Corporate Counsel Section’s treasurer for four years. He currently serves as treasurer for the Board of Queens Legal Services Corporation.

Diane Krausz, Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section

In her New York City-based law practice, Krausz (Diane Krausz & Associates) represents individuals and entities in the entertainment industry, with a special emphasis in the negotiation of production and licensing agreements in film, television, theater, and related transactions involving talent and intellectual property.

A graduate of the Wharton School and Fordham Law School, and a former certified CPA, Krausz is a longtime member of the Continuing Education Committee and an upcoming representative to the House of Delegates.

Mitchell Y. Cohen, Family Law Section

Mitchell Y. Cohen of White Plains is a partner at Johnson & Cohen, with offices in White Plains and Pearl River, where he concentrates his practice in family law. Cohen most recently served as vice-chair of the Family Law Section. He has been the section’s secretary, financial officer and co-chair of numerous committees of the section. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Cohen graduated from Emory University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned his law degree from Emory University.

Stephen B. Land, Tax Section

Stephen B. Land, a partner at Duval & Stachenfeld in New York City, advises on tax and ERISA for real estate, private equity, and hedge funds and their investors, regarding both the structure of the funds and their investments.

He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his law degree from Harvard Law School.

Kenneth A. Krajewski, Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section

Kenneth A. Krajewski of Buffalo is a managing partner at Brown & Kelly. He practices in the areas of insurance coverage, product liability, environmental and toxic tort litigation, fire loss and all areas of insurance defense and civil litigation, including safe places to work, automobile/truck, and insurance coverage litigation.

He is a graduate of Empire State College and the Capital University Law School, cum laude.

Charles J. Siegel, Trial Lawyers Section

Charles J. Siegel is the managing attorney at the Law Office of Charles J. Siegel, an insurance defense firm in lower Manhattan. Previously, he was an assistant district attorney in the Bronx County Homicide Bureau under Mario Merola.

He has been a member of the State Bar for 25 years and is past chair of its Electronic Communication Committee. He is past section chair and a member of the Executive Committee of the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law (TICL) Section. He chairs both the TICL Information Technology Committee and the TLS Website Committee.

Siegel received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, his master’s degree from Long Island University and his J.D. from Pace University School of Law.

Magdalen (Meg) Gaynor, Trusts and Estates Law Section

With offices in White Plains and Manhattan, Magdalen (Meg) Gaynor’s primary practice is state tax estate tax planning, will and trust preparation, estate and trust administration and fiduciary income tax preparation. She was elected Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has been a member of the Professional Advisors Council of Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y, since 2008.

She is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law and Simmons College in Boston.
