In a statement on the sentencing of Richard Luthmann, a Staten Island lawyer who pleaded guilty to wire fraud and extortion conspiracy, U.S. Senior District Judge Jack Weinstein of the Eastern District of New York wrote that Luthmann is hardly the only lawyer to suffer from issues related to mental health and substance abuse.
