Program Agenda:
Spotlight on Legal and Ethical Issues and the Disparities in Health Care (Part One)
Speakers will discuss the legal and ethical issues brought to light during the human rights and public health crisis posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Issues to be addressed include the balance between the ethical mandates and potential legal consequences of health care providers’ decision-making while operating in an environment when patient needs far exceeded available human and medical resources; the role of immunity afforded during such circumstances; and the disparities illuminated within our existing health care delivery system.

And moving forward with optimism, speakers will highlight how the Pandemic has demonstrated the benefits and need to expand the use of telemedicine long after the Pandemic subsides. Finally, experts will discuss the status of developing a safe and effective vaccine and the issues of achieving herd immunity.
