HLS Fall Meeting Part 1: Ethical Issues and Legal Reform in the New COVID-19
Program Agenda
Spotlight on Legal and Ethical Issues and the Disparities in Health Care
Speakers will discuss the legal and ethical issues brought to light during the human rights and public health crisis posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Issues to be addressed include the balance between the ethical mandates and potential legal consequences of health care providers’ decision-making while operating in an environment when patient needs far exceeded available human and medical resources; the role of immunity afforded during such circumstances; and the disparities illuminated within our existing health care delivery system.
