Immigration Law Update: Reversing Immigration-Related Administrative Actions

Immigration Law Update: Reversing Immigration-Related Administrative Actions

ImmigrationLawUpdate_675

The Trump administration issued several hundred executive actions, regulations, and other administrative actions restricting immigration. Reversing those actions is a high priority. But the law and potential strategies in this area are complex. Cornell Law School professor Steve Yale-Loehr will moderate a panel discussion with two leading immigration experts.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Key statutes: The Congressional Review Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Federal Vacancies Reform Act
  • Rulemaking versus litigation to reverse a rule or policy interpretation
  • Ways to reverse a pending rule versus a final rule
  • How the courts can help or hurt efforts to reverse immigration restrictions imposed by the Trump administration

Speakers

Stephen Yale-Loehr, Cornell Law School

Jesse Matthew Bless, Esq., American Immigration Lawyers Association

Amy Marmer Nice, Esq., Immigration Policy Advisor
