On May 16, 2022, NYS is launching a new “Independent Assessor” system for Medicaid recipients to apply to enroll in Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plans, or to apply to their local Medicaid offices for personal care or consumer-directed (CDPAP) services if they are exempt from MLTC plans. Some new applicants for these services will not be using the new system until July 1st. Learn how the new system will work and what the issues will likely be for attorneys helping clients apply for these services.
