Planning for Unmarried Couples: LGBT and Others (2019)
Experienced practitioners will guide participants through the complex process of estate planning for unmarried couples including will drafting considerations, naming beneficiaries on retirement accounts, estate tax implications, long-term care and how Medicaid and Social Security impact unmarried couples. Post-mortem concerns will also be addressed including whether unmarried couples have rights to direct the disposition remains, probate avoidance tips, rights of survivorship and intestate succession, proving kinship, and probate contests.
