The Child Parent Security Act

Join us to learn about the newly enacted NYS Child Parent Security Act which addresses the parentage of children born through assisted reproduction (donated sperm, egg or embryos) or surrogacy, embryo disposition, and posthumous reproduction. Under the Act, the traditional rules for determining parentage are replaced by a new paradigm which looks to the “intent” of the parties at the time of conception. Experienced family law practitioners will cover the important medical and legal principals underlying the Act as well as the procedural and substantive rules for determining parentage.
