Trust & Estates in the Digital Age: New Technologies (2019)
What is an asset of a trust or an estate? We are all familiar with assets such as automobiles, bank accounts, and residences. However, we live in an age where individuals may have virtual assets such as, among other things, social media content. Access to such virtual assets may be restricted by their nature and the uniqueness of their being in electronic form. This CLE program will suggest means by which administrators and executors of trusts and estates might locate, access, and take control of virtual assets for the benefit of beneficiaries.
