What You Need to Know as a Guardian Ad Litem (2020)
This program that will qualify you for an appointment as a guardian ad litem in Surrogate’s Court or other court. Learn the substantive rules and law of Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge (22 NYCRR Part 36) governing court appointment of fiduciaries, important ethical considerations, and the procedural aspects of serving as a guardian ad litem as well as the substantive role of a guardian ad litem in various proceedings. The program faculty includes experienced trusts and estates practitioners and Surrogate’s Court personnel.
Certified Training
This program is certified by the Unified Court System’s Office of Guardianship and Fiduciary Services for purposes of required training to qualify for appointment as a guardian ad litem under Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge.
