State bar association recommends marijuana be legalized

The Buffalo Law Journal reported that the State Bar approved the Committee on Cannabis Law’s report.

Should recreational marijuana be legalized in New York state? The New York State Bar Association says yes.

Led in part by Buffalo attorney Aleece Burgio, the state bar’s Committee on Cannabis Law completed a report that outlines strategies for how the still federally-illegal substance should be implemented in New York.

The report was approved Friday after it was presented to the state bar’s House of Delegates by Burgio and her fellow committee co-chair Brian Malkin.
