Commercial Division Rules In Supreme And County Courts: What You Must Know
We will be informing tort lawyers on insight from an experienced commercial judge, Justice Richard Platkin, and with an experienced litigator and former NYSBA president, Steve Younger, concerning the commercial rules that now must apply to all cases. Will counsel be able to take a comprehensive deposition with the limitation on depositions? How will courts handle issues such as discovery disputes and motion practice under the new rules? Tort lawyers may fear the unknown. Judge Platkin, Steve Younger and Peter Kopff, former chair of the Trial Lawyers Section, will answer your questions and persuade tort lawyers that counsel will achieve fair discovery and a fair result under the commercial rules.
