CTA Compliance Update and Issues
Description: The Corporate Transparency Act becomes effective 1/1/2024. This program will present a brief recap of the requirements of the CTA and then focus on some open questions, such as:
• Who is the applicant when more than two people are involved?
• Who are the beneficial owners of shelf companies or newly created entities that do not yet have owners?
• Which law firms must comply and file on their own behalf?
• Should we attorneys point our clients to service companies to assist them with their CTA compliance?
The program will also cover the New York LLC Transparency Act: What is its status and how might it create additional issues?
