Ethics for Corporate Counsel: Cyber Risk Management and Digital Ethics

A lawyer shall make reasonable efforts to prevent the inadvertent or unauthorized disclosure, use, or access to confidential information of a client, former client, or prospective client. What is “reasonable” in this age of rampant phishing, ransomware, data extortion, and other cybersecurity breaches, particularly in the midst of a pandemic?

This seminar focuses not on cyber-technical issues, but instead on the higher-level policies and practices that make up better cybersecurity programs, and the underlying principles which establish good practices for every attorney, regardless of what type of law their practice encompasses.
