Firearms and Gun Violence – Video Replay
This program educates advocates on how to best help their clients identify which weapons are in the home and which weapons are covered. Also, full range of options for gun surrender in Orders of Protection and how to raise these issues with the court. Speakers cover how advocates can prepare their clients for firearms removal per NYS Orders of Protection. Finally, this program covers collaboration with law enforcement, what to do when a party refuses to turn over weapons, and the extreme risk provisions.
