This program is created for our Massachusetts members at their request to familiarize them with certain aspects of New York Practice and familiarize New York Lawyers with some aspects of Massachusetts practice. 

This virtual program is transitional and is suitable for all attorneys including those newly admitted.

Topics Covered: 

Nuts and Bolts of a Supreme Court Case In this module we will discuss the basics of New York Practice for the uninitiated. We will touch on court rules, the court system, and various paperwork that is filed over the course of a New York Supreme Court Case.

Comparative of Federal District Court Local Rules | New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania

Federal Court is deceptively consistent in nature but local rules for those unfamiliar with them can be an unexpected stumbling block. We will compare the local rules of the District Courts for the Southern District of New York, The District of Massachusetts, and the District of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Comparative of Cannabis Law in Massachusetts, New York, and California  This panel will explore how several states, including New York, Massachusetts, and California are organizing and regulating their nascent legal cannabis markets, the issues facing legal cannabis markets across the county, and the status of cannabis legalization at the federal level.
