Defending Child Victim Act Claims (2020)
On February 14, 2019, Governor Cuomo signed the Child Victims Act into law. This legislation overhauled New York law concerning the time in which to commence claims for alleged childhood sexual abuse. The new law has already resulted in the filing of hundreds of “revived” claims against entities such as schools, churches, and youth organizations.
