New Yorkers who need help securing unemployment benefits through the appeals process will be matched with attorneys provided by the pro bono partnership launched by NYSBA and the state court system.
In partnership with the state court system, NYSBA has established a COVID-19 Recovery Task Force to oversee the pro bono network of lawyers who will be assisting New Yorkers suffering from the pandemic.
“In times of crisis, lawyers have always met their professional obligation to protect the rights of those who cannot afford an attorney,” said NYSBA president Henry M. Greenberg.
